Holy S##t Brandon Roy

In NBA on April 24, 2011 at 2:42 am

Holy shit, Brandon Roy just blew my mind, and my pick. I just got done watching Brandon Roy show the Dallas Mavericks and all of RIP City how to be a MAN. He just got done scoring 18 points in the fourth quarter for the Portland Trailblazers, and not to mention all the dimes he had in the fourth as well. Dude just went off and erased a 23 point deficit, yes 23 points, and he did it all on his own. Brandon said “come on yall, just follow me and ill lead you to the promise land” and he sure as hell did.

The Mavericks were going along like they had the game, cruisin’ in the 4th with a hefty 23 point lead, and then, they did what the Mavericks do, CHOKE. Every time I watch the Mavericks in the playoffs over the last 8 years or so, their choking, that simple, when it comes to the end, the Mavs are never on top. They choked in the Finals against the Heat, they choked in round one against 8th seeded Golden State, and they choked tonight. I would be surprised if they even win another game in this series, and its sad, because honestly, the Mavs are straight up a better club then portland. The difference is though, Portland’s got heart, and the Mavs just don’t seem too.

Enough about the Mavs chokin’ though, because the real story is Brandon Roy. I haven’t seen a fourth quarter like this in the playoffs, since Lebron went ape shit on Detroit in the Conference Finals a few years back. Seriously, mad probs Roy, I have never really been the biggest fan, but you just stole my heart. I thought it was over for the ole boy, with the two knee surgeries, then him mouthin’ off earlier this week, but he proved me wrong, dead wrong. Roy has still got it, homeboy’s got the magic.

I Would Take Derrick Rose Over Anyone

In NBA on April 23, 2011 at 11:59 pm

Ok before I get started, I want everyone to know just because Im not picking Lebron, or Dwight or Carmelo doesn’t mean I think they suck, so don’t come at me with that shit. If I were a Team owner in the NBA, and they told me I could start a team from scratch and start with any player, without a doubt I would choose Derrick Rose.

Rose

Derrick Rose has all the physical tools to easily be the best player in the league, If he is not all ready, and he has the most humble attitude of any superstar in the game today. If I was going to pick a superstar I would want a guy with his attitude over any other. Rose only cares about winning, and his team, not his “status” like a Lebron or Dwight. Yes Lebron can do it all, and it physically dominate over all others, but Lebron comes first every time. Now Dwight Howard is another story, the guy has a great attitude, and seems to be an all around cool dude, but I feel like he has hit his ceiling in a way. Rose on the other hand, the sky is the limit for this cat.

I have been watchin B-Ball for a long ass time, and I have never seen a player that is as explosive, balanced, and powerful as Rose, not to mention the dudes all of like 6’3. He finds his teammates, rebounds, plays shut down D, and makes clutch shot after clutch shot. Every year Roses J just gets better too, you know that means hes putting in the work in the offseason, and thats the kinda guy you want to lead your team.

Ya I know a lot of you people would say what about Kobe, or Durant, or some other cat. Well Kobe has passed his prime, Durant is just a scorer and I don’t see anyone else in the class of Rose. So hes my guy when I get my shot to run my team, haha like thats ever gonna happen.

Don't Fuk With Zaza

In Hawks on April 23, 2011 at 6:54 pm

I was at the Magic vs Hawks game 3 last night, and let me be straight up with you, I didn’t think Atlanta was gonna hang around in this game, but I was wrong. From the second I walked in the Arena, I knew something was different. Everyone had on their white “Dwight-OUT” shirts on, and the buzz was one. The game one victory really set a new tone for the fans here in Atlanta, we got so used to losing in the playoffs to anyone that resemble a good team over the past 4 seasons, but all that changed with the game one victory.

ZAZA

The Hawks came out swingin’ in this one, just like the crowd wanted, everything was dropping in the first half, they couldn’t miss. The crowd was jumpin and everyone was crunk. We played the first half like the playoff experienced team we are, or should always be. We rebounded, D’d up, moved the ball, and took good shots.

Then the beginning of the 3rd quarter rolled in, and we started playing like the same ole, undisciplined Hawks. We stopped moving the ball, and started just playing one on one, and taking continuous 20ft fadeaway shots. Somehow though, mostly with good solid D, we stayed in it.

Even though we had trouble moving the ball all night, and Hortford got lost in the shuffle, when the 4th quarter rolled around we were still in it. Mostly though, because the ball was just finding its way, reluctantly, into the basket. Also Dwight “Cry-Baby” Howard was having an off night offensively. Thats all you ask for in the playoffs though, definitely when you are the underdawgs, you just wanna be in at the end.

Near the end of the game with about 3 mins left, thats when it happened. Ole Zaza stepped up and put the fear in the Magic. For so long teams have walked all over us and instilled fear in the Hawks, making them think they didn’t belong. Then Zaza got in Dwights face, then headbutted Richardson (like a G) and it all changed. You could feel it in the Arena right then and there, ATLANTA AINT SCARED OF SHIT, and the Magic new it too. The Hawks weren’t just going to roll over and let the Magic win. No if they wanted to win that game, or the series for that matter they better strap up, cuz the Hawks are ready to scrap, and arn’t gonna take shit from noone.

That head but by Zaza wasn’t a knock out punch by any means, but it was a nice early body shot, letting the Magic know that this is not going to be easy. We don’t give a shit what your record was, how many commercials you star player is in, that you were in the finals a few years ago, or that you beat the snot out of us last year. Cuz we are here to win, not just put up a fight.

I cant wait for the rest of this series, I am pretty sure it will go at least 6 or 7, and either way it ends up its gonna be a fun one.
